Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, is an infectious disease that spread across the world in 2022. This poster explores the basics of how it works and delves into the pathological processes behind the rash.
Given that most people who had mpox were gay, bi, or queer men, echoes of stigma from the AIDS pandemic followed. I wanted to represent the affected population without moralizing or stigmatizing them. To achieve this, I chose two hands, intertwined, to hint at the spread of mpox in intimate settings.
