In the spring of 2026, I was invited to contribute to a Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) grant application for sex and gender studies. As a person with lived experience of both receiving and researching gender-affirming surgery, I was to contribute my community knowledge.
While it was initially requested in letter format, I decided to create a comic as well to support the grant in a more unique and eye-catching manner.
